Meditate 22 Day 22

Beige Floral Natural Makeup Beauty Logo-4.png

Day 22 of Meditate 22 days of self discovery.
As we close our journey together revisit your intention. How has your Sadhana evolved? For me I have become more presents with my thoughts allowing myself the grace to feel whatever emotion arises. I have started to ultilize my prana and my intuition. I feel less alone, I am comforted by my breath and the knowledge that with each inhale bring prana. This life-force energy comes from the universe and from you and me. With each breath we become more unified.
• Palo Santo or Sage
• A lighter/matches
• Candles
• An offering to spirit (flowers, crystals and note listing some changes over the last 22 days)
1. Light some palo santo or sage to cleanse your space. Call on spirit to join you in ceremony through a vocal prayer. Ask for support in closing this cycle and in releasing any accumulated heavy energy from this past phase. Make your offering as you welcome spirit into your sacred space.
2. To decide how many candles you will need, take a moment to meditate on the individual challenges from this past cycle that you would like to release during this ceremony. You will need one candle for each challenge plus one extra.
3. Light all candles except for one and sit with the light surrounding you.
4. Each lit candle represents a challenge that you will be putting to rest at the end of this cycle. Assign each candle to a specified challenge.
5. Pick up one candle and allow yourself to feel the reality of this challenge. Feel it in your body, in your mind, and in your soul. How did it first come to be? How is it living within you now? What part of you needs healing in order to let it go? While holding the candle, use your intention to move this energy through your body, through your arms, through your hands, and right into the candle. Once you feel like you have moved the energy out of your body, blow out the candle.
6. Repeat this process until all candles are blown out.
7. Take the final candle that hasn’t been lit yet. Focus on the blessings of this last cycle. Feel them as deeply as you felt the challenges and move that energy through your hands and into the candle. Once you feel that the candle has been infused with your blessings, light this last candle with the intention of carrying these blessings forth into the next cycle. Sit with this candle in meditation for a few moments.
8. Close your sacred space, thank spirit for accompanying you in ceremony, and blow out the final candle.
Today’s Suggestions for RITUAL :
  • Crystal – Onyx works similarly to quartz, but instead of dispelling negative energy, it absorbs it. Onyx has the incredibly power to change this negative energy into lucky, fruitful energy that can turn bad situations into blessings. Use onyx to eliminate lingering ailments or negative thoughts and to make the most out of unhealthy situations.
  • Essential oil – Lime – The oil of zest for life – apply to back of neck and over heart
  • Soothing Touch – Gently place your hand over your heart, feeling the gentle pressure and warmth of your hand make small circles over your sternum and gently massage the intercostals.
with so much love,

OM – The Sound, the Vibration of the Universe, The Primordial Sound
GAM – The Seed Sound, or bija sound of Lord Ganesha
GANAPATAYE – Another name of Lord Ganesh, the one who overcomes of obstacles.
NAMAHA – I offer you my salutations, I bow to you.
Lord Ganesha is the elephant-headed Hindu God who is worshipped for his knowledge and wisdom. He is known as the “breaker of obstacles.”
Om gam ganapataye namaha is a prayer or appeal to Ganesha.
Ganesh is said tp reside in the root chakra – by cheating and meditating to this mantra you wake Ganesh and ask help to utilize the energy of your root to break through change and obstacles in your life. {Ganesh is my favorite deity}

Set aside 5-10 minutes to journal.
  • Take some time to journal for you. Whatever comes to mind.
AGNI SAUR DHAUTI (fire wash)
Agni saur strengthens agni (digestive fire) and the digestive organs, centers energy in the body, removes excess phlegm, purifies samana vayu (seated in the region of the navel) and balances pitta dosha. It is heating and should not be practiced by people with high blood pressure, hernias or ulcers, until these conditions have ceased.
Place the palms face down on the knees or on the floor right in front of the knees with the fingers turned slightly inward. Inhale evenly, fully and deeply. Fold the body forward to empty out the lungs fully.
When you have completely exhaled and emptied the lungs as much as possible, hold the breath out as you round your back evenly, placing your chin to your chest. Your arms should straighten enough so your head ends up higher than the height of your hips. Continue to hold the breath out and draw your belly and diaphragm back toward your spine as much as possible comfortably. Move the abdomen in and out at a moderate pace as many times as you can comfortably while holding the breath out. You are not breathing during this process. Stop moving the belly just before you think you need to inhale, relax the muscles and fold forward as close as you can to the floor. Stay there as you inhale, then exhale slowly as you bring your spine back into an upright position. This is one round. Practice three rounds.
Note: Breath retentions should never create tension or anxiety, increase in heart rate or the need to quickly suck in air. Stop two steps before you cross that line and eventually the line will begin to move and your capacity will expand.

November 29, 2019 { Day 21}
Understanding is love. If you can’t understand, you cannot love. When you understand yourself, your suffering, you love yourself.
~ Thich Nhat Hanh

drig darshana shaktyoh ekatmata iva asmita
False-identification is confusing the nature of the seer or Self with the nature of the instrument of perception. In other words, false identification happens when we mistake the mind, body, or senses for the true Self.
When the Seer, which is consciousness (purusha) is identified with being the Seer, Egoism prevails. Body, body sensations, organs of action and sense, intelligence, the fluctuations of the mind, all have no awareness of themselves, they only REFLECT.
~Yoga Sutra 2:6

Day 20 of Meditate 22 days of self discovery.

Breathe deeply in through the nose – expanding the chest and moving the shoulders forward. Sharply expel the air through the nose using the abdominal muscles moving the abdomen backwards. On the last breath make a high pitched humming sound. Do this 30 times, then do Maha Bandha (see below) followed by Kevala Kumbhaka{short breath retention} –
Maha Bandha – The Great Lock
Maha Bandha or the Great Lock combines all the three main  Bandhas  or locks practised by yogis –  Mula BandhaUddiyana Bandha  and  Jalandhara Bandha .  Maha  in Sanskrit means ‘great’ or ‘supreme’ and  Bandha  means a lock.  Maha Bandha  means the great lock and is said to activate the prana shakti thereby aiding the awakening of  Kundalini Shakti  at the base of the spine.  Maha Bandha  is also called the tri-bandha or the triple lock as it involves all the three major locks.

~ Mother Teresa

maitri karuna mudita upekshanam sukha duhka punya apunya vishayanam bhavanatah chitta prasadanam
Mind is purified by cultivating friendliness towards the happy,
compassion towards the miserable, joy towards the virtuous
and indifference towards the wicked.
When we see a person having success in life, wish them continued success.
When we see a person having difficulty in life, wish them compassion.
When we see a person having great virtue and pure, wish them joy.
When we see a person impure and evil, wish them good will.

Day 20 of Meditate 22 days of self discovery.
Have you been meditating 10-15 minutes? How is your practice feeling?

My daily practice has become a shmorgishborg of feel good practices that unite me to my true self. It brings me home and feels safe to me. This journey has been a beautiful path illuminating my soul. in gratitude and love,
PS Book suggestion – The Untethered Soul

Set aside 5-10 minutes to journal.
  • Notice how you speak to yourself throughout the day. What language do you use?
Please find a posture in which your body is comfortable and will feel supported for the length of the meditation. Then let your eyes gently close, partially or fully. Taking a few slow, easy breaths, releasing any unnecessary tension in your body.
If you like, placing a hand over your heart or another soothing place as a reminder that we’re bringing not only awareness, but affectionate awareness, to our breathing and to ourselves. You can leave your hand there or let it rest at anytime.
Now beginning to notice your breathing in your body, feeling your body breathe in and feeling your body breathe out.
Just letting your body  breathe you . There is nothing you need to do.
Perhaps noticing how your body is nourished on the in-breath and relaxes with the out-breath.
Now noticing the  rhythm  of your breathing, flowing in and flowing out. (pause) Taking some time to  feel  the natural rhythm of your breathing.
Feeling your  whole body  subtly moving with the breath, like the movement of the sea.
Your mind will naturally wander like a curious child or a little puppy. When that happens, just gently returning to the rhythm of your breathing.
Allowing your whole body to be gently rocked and caressed –  internally caressed  – by your breathing.
If you like, even  giving yourself over  to your breathing, letting your breathing be all there is.  Becoming  the breath.
Just breathing.  Being  breathing.
And now, gently releasing your attention to the breath, sitting quietly in your own experience, and allowing yourself to feel whatever you’re feeling and to be just as you are.
Slowly and gently opening your eyes.

“Our dream gives us vitality. It gives our life meaning.”

“Whether or not you are aware of it, deep in your heart there is something you have always wanted to accomplish.” …”When you identify and nurture your deepest desire, it can become a great source of happinesss, energy and motivation. It can sustain you through difficult moments.”

Day 19 of Meditate 22 days of self discovery.
Manifestation Meditation. Meditation works is so many way and on so many levels. Manifesting your heartfelt desire, turning your desire into reality is part of the magic of meditation. Manifestation Meditation is similar to the idea of Taoist Meditation – visualizing to create your reality. Isn’t that an amazing concept- our thoughts create our reality.
Manifestation Step 1: Choose What You Want To Manifest
  • When picking a thing to manifest, ask yourself the following questions:
  • Do I really want this, in my heart of hearts?
  • How will I benefit from having this?
  • When I think about having this, does it feel right?
  • How will it be good for me and for others?
Manifestation Step 2: Get Rid Of Things That Stand In Your Way
  • Negative beliefs/mindset
  • Toxic people
  • Timing
Manifestation Step 3: Visualize What You Want To Manifest
Manifestation Step 4: Take Action To Manifest What You Want
Manifestation Step 5: Recognize And Appreciate
Today’s Suggestions for RITUAL :
  • Star Gazing
  • Flower ritual – Choose a flower you love or a flower based on its energy. Fill a crystal bowl with water add the flower to it as you meditation the flower and water become infused with your energy and desire for manifestation. Either bathe with the water or pour it in a spray bottle with some crystals for a grounding reminder of your heartfelt desire.
  • Essential oil – Magnolia – apply to bottom of feet and back of neck
so much love,
PS Book suggestion – The Spirit Almanac

Try Meditating in the Morning:
In the morning, your mind hasn’t been bombarded with it’s daily dose of distractions yet.
As a matter of fact, according to research carried out at the Montreal Neurological Institute,
the brain shrinks by 0.5% throughout the day.
The Science
According to several neuroscience studies, the size of the brain has some relationship with how well it functions. This affects your focus, attentiveness, and memory.
Therefore, if you practice meditation during the morning, you’re more likely to
experience a higher level of concentration compared to the rest of the day.
You don’t have to close your eyes
People meditate in a variety of different ways.
Some focus well when their eyes are closed, whilst others are focus better with their eyes open.  If you can stay focused when your eyes are closed, then, you should always close your eyes when trying to focus. However, if you can focus better with your eyes open,
then keep your eyes open.

Set aside 5-10 minutes to journal.
When you’re visualizing your goal, here’s some of the key questions to ask yourself:
  • What changes would you experience if you had already achieved your goal?
  • What type of neighborhood would you be living in?
  • What type of car would you be driving?
  • And what type of people would you be associating with?
Breath of Victory
As the right arm is raised toward the ceiling, inhale through the nose making a high pitch sound in the laryngeal area by constricting the epiglottis. At the end of the in-breath bend the elbow, close the right nostril with the right thumb and breathe out sharply through the left nostril. Repeat 7 to 17 times. Allow the breath to return to normal.
Rub the palms together until they become hot then place the base of the palm into the eye socket. Keep them there for a short while then move the palms upwards over the face and forehead. Then use the hands to clear the aura around the body.
